When the MC moves to death phase immediately after starting, it kind of loses any sense of emergency for his "putting his life on the line". Artist needs to scale back the blood vomiting and let it scale gradually.

Also, couldn't he have just delivered the goods a couple at a time?

Argeed. Applaud the author for not shying away from the sexual assault part but the bandit attack needed a bit more than a couple of pages. It's not that we need to see the sordid detail but skipping through just kinda limits the emotional connection with the characters and their motivations. Personally think they should have dedicaed a whole chapter to the backstory and saved the 'upgrading' for Ch3.
