Early again, it's always nice to see a chapter drop the minute I finish reading one.
Anyways, I'm liking the look of this so far, and it seems to be updating fairly quick, so hopefully that'll be the norm for awhile. Our boy has it rough, but for all intents 'n purposes he's a 1000% regular person compared to our usual isekai protags. It's a promising read so far.

Started to think about if I was in his position; I'd try collecting gobbo weapons, like that knife that was graciously given to his abdomen, and either use it as a makeshift emergency knife, or macguyver it into a spear for longer distance handling.

double checked the entire thing and it took me a while to find "the travelling budget the priest gave me before", an unknown amount that is mentioned once
overlooked it when I was reading this yesterday, feels lazy to not add numbers but it just means that he won't be struggling to afford stuff for long or we won't ever know how tight the budget actually is

I mean, it isn't her fault that MC kinda sucks, lol.
She probably thought he could take care of himself so he recommended the shield as it can be used to protect most of the body.

The author/illustrator uses the MC's hairstyle as a visual identifier so the protection a helmet would provides becomes irrelevant.

Maybe he should try to become a stealth archer instead. Honestly, his skills with the axe aren't too promising. However, he seems to be able to get within bow range from goblins. He can't really get within axe range. It's also not great how he gets beaten up every day. That's no way to do it in the long run.

That being said, it was mention already, but he should try to look for loot. Apparently lots of adventurers die out there, which is why they keep saying the city always needs new blood to fill the ranks.
