“THATS IT???” in all seriousness tho this ending was bittersweet yet quite ambiguous. Although, I’m glad they didn’t try to bs some happy or “prince saves the day” ending.
Edit: Ryuuto is forced to die, forever reminded of the love he could’ve had (riko) thats now forever out of reach.
Kokoa is forced to live, she finally lets go of her princess ideals, her futile search for a “prince” thats been the source of so much pain, and accepts thats she will be alone, her worst nightmare. And yet, the only reason she chooses to live through it is because the only person who saw her for who she truly was, told her that despite being alone, she will be fine.
When I realised this after letting the ending simmer for a bit, it made it much more poignant (for me at least) and I think if the manga did a better job at portraying this (assuming this was the intention) I’m sure the ending would’ve been recieved alot better.
