This is just insulting, 'he would later die of a cold' tier. I was already somewhat emotionally divested, then this happened, and then the end of the chapter...I'm a strong proponent of 'a work isn't bad because the author took it in a direction you didn't want,' but even I have a limit.

I think the crux of my issue is that it jumped the shark in terms of forced drama and making Kagami cartoonishly evil, then this...there's just a better way to execute the same thing?

Chapter 12 is out rn, I hope to god someone can spoil me because I literally cannot accept that final line. If Kyou actually died then this might be the greatest betrayal I've ever felt in manga.

Damn, I was gonna say that this seems like a prelude to a tragedy, but I didn't expect it to be in the fking cliffhanger tagline at the end.

Man I know the handful of chapters remaining effect always causes faster pace and escalation that was extra even by that standard.

Like even if the start of the imagined death relates to the Kyou's end of chapter death being part of sis going mad even more and didn't "really" happen its still insane way to end a chapter especially as we know some set up tragedy over being seen will occur. And if it is going the way its looking...could have used more chapters to make it slow down a bit.
