@sirflimflam (@pockettrash, @nyamcam) I doubt very much your speculation is correct. In the first place, the number would have had to go up at least by 8 just by bumping into someone else to have increased to more than the last time he saw her number (that we know of). It's far more likely that he would have been shocked that her number had dropped as much as it had (40 or less) and had not increased in his absence.
However, it could have nothing to do with her lifespan number and he could simply be jealous that she seemed to be laughing and enjoying herself with another dude as if without a care in the world while he was feeling completely miserable himself. He may not even have seen her number as her back seems to have been towards him the whole time.
