I don't even know what's happening anymore. Thought spiky hair would help but he's kinda acting like a dick.

LOL imagine if he knew about Kanae's mental issues, although even without that, trying to steal a teammate's girlfriend is pretty scummy

Tho makes me wonder if there'd be a more 'normal' series where there'd be some 'plant' hired by another school to seduce the members of a rival baseball team to screw them over lol
baldie is a schizo, he's ok with his childhood friend but he's not with the "parasite".

Well, he prolly knows her better to where she understands how important baseball is to both of them although Hiroshi probably needs to go to the doctor/ get physical therapy to recover properly as opposed to playing and ending up straining his arm even more

And i know bald friend is doing baseball b/c of his daddy issues but feels like he'd be better off doing some 'solo sport' and focus on himself bc other than Hiroshi he clearly doesn't give a shit about his teammates

Oh no, she’s going to send her “friends” after this dude’s childhood friend for revenge isn’t she?

well, do we know if Narumi is outta juvie? b/c he was her connection to them unless she had some more savings to where she could contact them again tho i feel like the police being reported on two members on the same team being 'randomly assaulted' might bring in too much unwanted attention unless she made him fully 'disappear' rather than just break an arm

Or, Hiroshi might kick his ass then and there and get them both kicked off the team, not that familiar but pretty sure a handful of school sports would have a no violence (even among classmates/infighting) policy

He couldn't even make it to the end of the chapter without hitting on her.

Meanwhile the author can go 37 chapters without telling us if the girl who was almost killed is okay
I mean, i doubt she'll ever be 'ok' even if she gets sent to therapy but she's not relevant to the plot anymore so other than it straight up showing her killing herself, i don't think we'll get any info/she's probably just gonna be a hikkikomori/shut in if she hasn't been spotted in school anymore looking like an empty shell

Just keeps on escalating. I can only imagine what horror that girl will enact after this.

Spiky-haired vice captain just put Nana on Kanae's radar. I'm sure that's nothing to worry about, though. Kanae's a level-headed girl; I'm sure she'll just want to have a pleasant chat with her boyfriend's childhood friend.
Ochi is being hella rude but I cant help but feel hes speaking some sort of truth here. From what we've been shown so far she's somewhat that sort of person hes making her out to be.
The undercurrent of the conversation here isn't that he's wrong about what he's saying, but that almost every substantive criticism he's making applies to him just as much as it does to her.

Both Kanae and Ochi come from abusive family situations, both of them are externalizing their self-worth onto Hiroshi, and both of them get emotional as soon as something threatens their connection to him. Kanae's pretty obvious here since she's the main character and gets the bulk of the narrative focus, but look at how Ochi gets depressed in chapter 28 when he thinks to himself that Hiroshi just likes playing baseball and doesn't necessarily like playing baseball with Ochi, whereas Ochi only really wants to play baseball if it's with Hiroshi. On top of that you've got chapter 44, where Ochi tries to start a stupid internet fight purely because someone on the internet said something nice about a high schooler that wasn't Hiroshi, and then gets pissy with all of his teammates for making plans for the team that don't involve Hiroshi pitching.

So by and large he's not wrong, but almost everything he's saying to her would still be perfectly accurate if he was shouting it at a mirror. The whole story's got a bit of recurring theme where people who are really rather similar end up hating each other because they are completely incapable of communicating in healthy ways, and instead resort to asking van-owning third parties to mediate their disputes.

I think kanae tech met kanae before and hiroshi mentioned she was an ex tho i dunno if there'd be more conflict with her (unless she wants hiroshi back for some reason) versus the current friction with the baseball friend

Thank you for the Chapter!

This one has been very interesting. I feel like we got more subtle confirmation Ochi is into Hiroshi with spiky hair dude's comment of "the only girl you talk to is nana-chan" and Ochi replying "she understands" is telling.

I like how last chapter was a break down of Kanae by Ochi, giving her unfiltered criticism but leading to his blindspot of not understand/caring for the reasons/excuses people behave the way they do.

I think with spiky hair dude showing up to defend Kanae was a way to show the flaws in Ochi's logic. Kanae isn't the way she is cause she was coddled her whole life (we see the home situation) she also dosent cry or use emotions to get her way, we get to see that not only from her thoughts of trying not to cry but the fact she can't control herself from crying with a simple touch. She maybe a "parasite" but a inadvertent one.

I feel like this story's tragedy is gonna be at some point Kanae is going to realize and get over her lack of self worth and gain meaning connections and identity but by the time she does she has caused so much damage to the people around her it eventually leads to the stabbing.

Like sad to see it happened, but can't say it wasn't deserved lol

Spiky guy had it right. Sure he makes accurate points, but he's not delivering it in a way that is constructive. He's actively pointing things out to hurt her because he's jealous.

Hiroshi had and Tomiko have been way better at getting Kanae to better herself and they haven't needed to tear her apart like that. Ochi is just projecting hard; he is bitter that he feels he has to put up with abuse because he's a guy and involved in baseball, and he's pissed that Kanae is "taking away" his only source of comfort in his personal hell, aka Hiroshi.

This downward spiral refuses to end, dear lord! It's like a game of limbo with a man made of string!
All the same, thanks for the translations!
