This manga's art is not great, but the pacing really caries it.
Little slice of life moments that seem like nothing out of the ordinary, yet they very gradually transform the main character into a man who can be a father.
The rejection in the beginning might've been bitter at first, but soon will turn out to be the best event of his life.
It made him a man.

@Bente_Koini I know, right?
I feel like it's how MC's progress is handled. He's slowly growing, but every time he makes a big move, she turns him down gently but almost instantly.
She's always looking out for him, which is sweet, but she doesn't even hesitate to refuse him when he tries to make a move, which feels bitter.
Her eyes could also have that effect. They're not the eyes of an energetic typical anime girl, but a tired single mother barely balancing time between her son and her job.
Maybe that's why she'll eventually accept the MC, when he manages somehow to prove that he's not an extra burden in her life but rather a source of relief.

He was pretty much only rejected or at least that hard, because he said "that kid doesn't matter to him at all". There is just no more worst words he could ever say to single mother, when that kid is all her world and love. But like you mentioned it was way for him to grow as character. His biggest obstacle will be her habits of treating him like kid first and as man only second I guess. But well making her feel like woman again and not just mother will be his task. I wonder if hers kid father will show up in future (not sure if he left family or died or what?).

i'd love it if more characters are developed, aside from just the 3 of them
certainly, it'd be easier to root for a character with a fuller social life, so it'd be great to see him interact and connect with people aside from yuzuki
same goes for her
not like, cheap jealousy arcs or anything, just some heartfelt connections as a device for development as well as a push for change

He is still like a kid, he's growing, but will take a while. Though that's not entirely true since when she took of her shirt like she would do if only her son was around, she quickly realized she made a mistake.

Honestly, I'd love to see him starting to act like a dad around the kid and the kid really starting to like him.

That would be nice.
