Honestly, as tired as the usual "forgotten promise" routes go I think I'd rather that instead. Between what it was and the fallout because of it...?

I mean, I get it, she did base a lot of her decisions and expectations off it. Sure, the rug was pulled but as plainly seen, he doesn't need to be in that household to have her as a maid.

Makes their "conflict" and this situation feel lackluster and forced, imo

Just keep them both, they compliment each other: Shirakawa has the better personality (as long as she doesn't go yandere) and the CF is actually competent at being a maid. We can debate who is cuter, but can probably all agree that both are attractive.

This. I sympathized with her up until that moment. She really fucked up there, and it shows she wasn't thinking of him, only of herself.
