Sales links for physical and digital.

You saw it all on the credits page.
Frankly I'm out of optimism. I try to be more evenhanded - it was hard deciding how to close the credits since I didn't want people feeling compelled to give up money for a cause I've lost faith in. But that's not fair to the mangaka either. I don't really think I gave this one a fair shot in general.
Anyway the break in translations happened because I got too depressed and eventually decided it would be easiest if I did it all at once. Because I've been sitting on these thoughts for half a year now.

As for this chapter, I don't know what to make of it. It very much feels like an abrupt soft-finale. There's nothing set up for next time and it builds on nothing from last time. Just a recap and happy reaffirmation of our protagonists' relationship.

Since the chapter was removed I actually wasn't sure if I should translate it at all. Maybe the mangaka was dissatisfied? The art is rushed and it's half-length. Maybe they decided to change course and this chapter no longer fit? It's not impossible the manga will return with a new chapter 15 that overwrites this one. It's an odd situation in general.

Sorry if I got your hopes up with this spree of chapters. I wanted to see where it goes too.

As far as axed finales go, I definitely prefer an open ending to a rushed ending, although the half length chapter really hurts. This series has some truly amazing art and neat writing, so I will continue to pray for a third volume.

Thank you for the TL!

Thanks for the translation

I can see why it’s at risk of axe. It’s a good ‘rise to stardom’ fluffy wuffy .. aaaaand that’s it. Zero dimensions, character wants a thing- and gets it. Slightest hint at depth was when costume girl was initially brought on and failed audition, but that was short lived because she literally got over it and rebuilt her resolution in less than a page

There was some promise of the MC having trouble with being a shy introvert girl, like she was introduced.. but that literally never came up again. Loud black hair girls identity issues she was introduced with were cool and mysterious.. but literally never came up again

Hints of depth and interesting things are good but they actually have to be part the story, not just bait and switch with em - (no a token “oh yeah take your time speaking I know ur shy teehee” single line every 3 chapters does not count)

I really liked this one. I don’t get the complaints, but tbf I rarely do. It felt like things were progressing nicely until this pulled chapter.

Getting an English license could have kicked the can far enough they were able to change their mind for now. Hopefully they get to do a bit more if the situation improves so this “end” can go away. Heck, I’d rather it end with a time jump rather than this as a least worst option.

God that's a shame. I think if it wasn't such at risk of being axed there was huge potential here if the mangaka had enough time to develop things - we had a cast of talented people with their own insecurities and it would've been really cool to see a lot more of that as they developed as actors/playwrights/costume designers and as people...

Sometimes mangaka just get unlucky I guess. Hope they manage to bounce back and do something new that's more successful, really interested in what they do next if this really does finally get the axe.

I'm a brainlet so pay no mind to my message, but it felt like the 'somber' tone hinted during all the chapters never went somewhere, just some darker colors in the chapter. I was waiting for someone to slip and to show that something is coming. It's only 15 (14?) chapters so maybe it needed time to develop things, but I got to used to that and just skiped a bit because I knew nothing will come of it.

No point in feeling bad about shit sales of a book in Japan, realistically Western buyers aren't going to change a thing unless this turned out to be super popular, but after the first couple chapters it was clear it didn't.

I grabbed third to last copy of vol 2 currently in stock on cdjapan, might as well since there's a high chance there won't be any more and I liked this story a lot :p Just 2 left, grab it while it's cold (?)

It's so sad :meguuusad:

I was really hoping this series would last

No I'm sure it will!!

Noighd, you're always able to find really good and underrated series but maybe it's because they're so underrated that they have troubles with sales? Your translations are really good though and it's horrible that this series might not continue...

I bought 2 volumes of it off cd Japan which might help a bit or at least hopefully give the author some money and support.
