Manga adaptation that's made for the sake of advertising the novels is normal, this one was axed.

It was mentioned in the scanlator credit page on ch35 or something.

Basically: the manga adaptation didn't do well enough, therefore it's dead.

Yes. Season 1 aired about 4 years ago. Season 2 started in July, but only aired 4 episodes before being "postponed indefinitely." The most recent episode ended just after the events from this chapter.
