The Childhood Friend, revealed.
Those shots looking through the rain-soaked windshield were lovely. Driving in the rain at night is stressful-but there's an undeniable romance to it.
The sound of water hitting the car roof. The steady motion of the wiper blades. The world outside dark, vast, illuminated only by your headlights in tiny fractions, or in the ephemeral street lights and backlit windows of the buildings that dash by.
There's something near-magical about how all of existence is reduced to the dry cabin space of your vehicle, and the rest just falls away and becomes a suggestion, a possibility.
And through that--when you finally reach your destination...cold, tired, possibly hungry, and definitely a little tense & sore?
It's the completion of an adventure. And sometimes, even, the start of a new one.
Thank you for your continued work on this series. Looking forward to after the break, already.
