Funny thing this... It does portray kids just being kids in a way most school series don't, But the very fact that they're just kids being kids kinda makes romance between them seem awkward. Like you know it isn't going to work out for them because they're young and impulsive and doing things on a whim while taking everything so deathly seriously.
