I love that bit of storytelling the author did with the sister. Be honest and don't keep secrets. Which could just be honest, good advice. But a little later, we found out she broke off her wedding 2 days before it. Which is a crazy thing to do in a normal situation, but because we got her saying those two statements, we can immediately understand what caused it.

If it is an actual bear, I suspect our intrepid protagonist's size alone should keep the poor forest denizen at a healthy distance.

It would be funny to see an actual bear come out of the bushes, see Ujioka, and freak out and go running off in terror while our Lead Pair stare after it all flabbergasted.
