The author has 14 titles in the Dex, and not a single one has a Tragedy tag

I think the statement from the director is a bit of a misdirect from the author. Think about it, what does all this means for Aru's lifespan? I think ultimately what we will get is Yutaka growing old and on his deathbed and Aru doing something that will allow them to die together.
