Man how does one reach this state of pure tranquility and peace in the face of your family ripping themselves to pieces. Did the dad reach the state of nirvana that the buddha has only dreamed of? Lol in all seriousness, i fully expected him to either be manipulated or under the influence of some good kush but no thats just him! 100%, grade A, all natural psychosis.

The father's got a narcissistic personality.
He says and does things to make himself feel better. Which is expressed in his self validations of "what a good boy am i". In reality he lacks empathy, makes every situation about himself, and shows absolutely no real interest in his family except for those feelings of self validation.

He's absolute garbage.
Just like the others

Guys... How do I tell you this... You haven't even seen how fucked up the dad can be yet.

Mom lost it and it's the one affecting uichi the most, but she never was bad or selfish until she went literally Bonkers and desperately needed someone, sis unironically only needed correct guidance, her problems started as a stupid teen, dad was a time bomb all along.

don't be afraid of yotsuha... She's an angel even if she makes scary faces.
Be prepared to hate the family a bit more, all of them.
Also be prepared to see uichi getting real character development.
Remember that uichi is a good boy, Don you think he would be happy if something bad happened to anyone in his family?

Craziest case of denial I've ever seen. This has gone beyond social ineptitude often found in autism to a whole other level. Ineptitude from incapability to recognize social signs are one thing, but this man outright ignores them.

Not even psychopathic/ASPD, technically. ASPD is marked by higher impulsive risk-taking behaviors and notable pain tolerance. Man isn't impulsive and denies painful things, he has no tolerance for them.

The grandiose self-praise and deliberate ignorance of the state of others point towards symptomatic NPD, but damn. Not even the biggest narcissistic dickheads I've met are this dense.

Man no wonder the family went to shit... Only Mom was acting like an actual parent meanwhile Dad is enabling his daughter to be a liability.

The moment his wife's sanity was reaching breaking point he does his absolute best to deny any form of responsibility and shove it all to her thus breaking her completely.

This in turn made the mom be mentally dependent on seeing her only child that cares for her when she hurts herself... It's certainly not right but you can see how it reached that point when she's married to a psycho like this...

Somehow the dad is the worst of them all, and the cause of most of the suffering. Not supporting his family, caring about them, giving them what they need. The mom now that I'm seeing her POV is actually a bit of a pitiful character more than anyone but Uichi. Trying to work and support the family, give them emotional support and provide. But she gets nothing from her husband, and even when she tries to talk to him he just stonewalls her with his dumb brain, eventually she becomes depressed and codependent on Uichi with turns toxic and abusive - then there's this mysterious 3rd party that's been focused on tormenting Uichi that is still a ?

But yeah dad is a real piece of crap.

I still feel terrible for Uichi's Mom. She was clearly trying her best before the psychological break. Her mental condition is the result of her environment, not the effects of Clover's manipulation like her daughter or borderline-psychopathy like her "husband". She doesn't deserve to die horribly; she deserves to return to the kind-hearted mother she once was.

What an insane chapter. This manga just keeps hitting the most demented notes it can. Dig it.

I feel sorry for everyone but the dad. Mom basically did nothing wrong and is only emotionally dependent on uichi because her husband is a retarded piece of shit that doesn't know what he's doing wrong, and her daughter was manipulated into hating her with no resistance because the rest of the family were either going insane or ignoring/enabling her. No idea why she doesn't interact with uichi though, her laziness and unwillingness to work for anything doesn't have anything to do with her brother, who isn't pushing any responsibility on her not has he implied that she should work for things at all.

Honestly after seeing how blatantly evil and murderous every other antagonist is, seeing the father just be a passive blob made me laugh. What a genius decision on the author's part. Sometimes passivity is as bad as if not worse than actively harming

Problems can't exist if you never believed that they were there in the first place.

This is like advanced disassociation.
