The thing that confuses me most is that at the end of chapter 36, he says he hates Uichi because he "killed ______" which from everything we've seen so far, I don't think Uichi could be even indirectly related to anyone else's death.

Maybe the cat or dog that died when they were younger which caused Uichi to decide become a vet?

I have that feeling too. He feels like more doing a chore when having sent that message. His reaction afterwards shows no glee, nor any feeling of accomplishment. Got the feeling that the person behind is someone we don't know or it has been either a variant of MC/FMC or something else. Someone with deep knowledge of the MC and his family for sure.

I went back to look and I don’t think they meant they literally became friends with uichi I think there saying he’s the one there bullying now. And they don’t say it to rei, it’s something yotsuha over hears. But she does say rei is suspicious

They said they were “playing with a friend” but then Uichi “told them they were bullies” and then the stooges “became Uichi’s friends”. Given how easily Eito drops the facade of being Uichi’s friend when he is too pissed off and apparently never said the name of Rei in any prior timeline, how genuine this claim is remains unknown.

Well whose to say Rei was bullied at all, Rei could have framed the whole scene so that Uichi would be tortured by Eito and co and kick off the killing Uichi plan. We also don’t know if Rei is THE Clover, another pawn, or maybe one of the people who make Clover if it is made by multiple people out for Uichi’s head, so he may not be the mastermind after all. I have a feeling the author will subvert expectations.

Also as the translation points out, Rei has the kanji for zero in his name… Yotsuba and her only known brother, Mitsuba, also have numbers in their name (4 and 3 respectively)… do you guys think Rei is their sibling but was given the name 0 because evil mom hated how he looked nothing like her so she labeled him 0 to call him worthless? Given how he is the same age range as Yotsuba him being her long lost twin wouldn’t be out of place if they turn out to have the same birthday.
