I spoiled myself ... holy shenanigans, I would say author fumbled a ton
tons of spoiler btw...read at risk
I will not go into deep detail, because it wasn't in my language
  • she really needs Uichi to k!ll himself to f*ck with Yotsuha, but big bro was still faster with the police to save them
  • Fu goes cult leader and gets Uichi and Yostuha family killed, burns uichi and get big bro stabbed Oshi no Ko style.
  • Yotsuha finally uses the power and goes back in time to when she's a kid and jumps off the roof
  • Uichi leaves a normal life as he didn't had a psychopath ruining his life (he even is friends with the 2 a-holes that tried to ruin his life), but he SOMEHOW starts to remember Yotsuha and he suddenly remembers everything (and gets Fu for advice, FFS author)
  • Uichi searches for a 4leaf clover and prays to go back in time at the same time Yotsuha returns too, and does his best to calm her to have faith in life again.
  • They visit Fu to prevent her dad from offing himself and we get a super DUMB and FAST defeat on Yotsuha's mom
  • The b!tch can't see people despairing in jail so she was going crazy, watches herself in the mirror and that works for her.
  • happily ever after for the couple.

- THERE'S NO ACTUAL PUNISHMENT TO THE GENIUS PSYCHO and that's just crap, because at least make them stay the FUCK outta her life, she has the capacity to be friggin' unhinged, I wouldn't put her on the same level of Yotsuha's mom, but she kinda close, remember she started to plan Yotsuha and Uichi's demise when she was like... what? less than 8 years old.

I wouldn't call it the worst end, someone already mentioned deadtube, there's also jujika and maria no danzzai also a big flop, so at least is a little on top of them
Unfortunately for justice lovers, Eastern philosophy usually favors balance over punishment.

I think you're expecting TOO much of a 3 year old.

But damn, the burden of being too smart. Smart enough that even your own mother looks at you with something closer to fear than pride. And smart enough that you can't click with your own peers, because your interests simply don't line up with theirs. So to fit in, you hide your true self behind a well manufactured lie.
True genius level children are way above what you're thinking by 3 years old, but there's no way this author could accurately depict them.

some are fair points, BUT
at least for me staying close to someone that always faked their relationship and pretty much blamed all their crap on her that was clearly another victim, specially since they stayed on touch and she always knew how crap her life was all around to still choose to destroy her like that is friggin' insane AAAND
about your 2nd spoiler, that's just wishful thinking about trying to make her a more sympathetic character, because we don't know if she was actually laughing at Yotsuha when she shown Uichi death.

Meanwhile we know that Yotsuha brother even if he killed his own mom, bro was genuinely broken from all her mom shit, but never took it on other people, unlike Fuu, that had an insane hit list, because she didn't let her minions alive.

and about the fair points, yeah, the dad was f*ck up too in the end, the incestous sh!t is craaazy, and I can agree with the point of inherently evil, but as I mention with Yotsuha's bro, not everyone chooses to do evil in the face of insanity, he could have easily sh!t on Yotsuha too as he took the mom insanity while she waited for the time to f*ck with Fu's dad. That's why I can understand it, but still makes me mad how the author after making her even more insane throws her a nice happy end with them as friends. (the end was rushed af like everything was solved with wishing like that, where pretty much in the past was solved by learning from mistakes and information of the future to fix the past)

tl;dr I can agree to some points, but going for a fully happy end in all sides rubs me the wrong way, and kinda cheapens some parts of the story
Yeah, in the end I think it's partially that Uichi and to some extent Yotsuha are just like INSANELY tolerant and forgiving people. Mostly Uichi.

And yeah in the end maybe feeling a little bit of sympathy for her let me overlook the absolutely extent of evil!Fuu's insanity. Tbh I kind of think it's a problem with how she's written as a whole, where she's supposed to be so smart and logical but never once even acknowledges that Yotsuha had no control or responsibility for the circumstances of her birth or her mom's actions. Everything she says to Yotsuha is completely irrational and I guess the point is manipulation rather than her necessarily believing it, but I'd find her more believable if she acknowledged it wasn't logical but she hated Yotsuha anyway. In general she's kind of a "TV genius" or whatever the term for it is. Like the idea that because you're smart at physics and programming you'd also be able to learn great social skills and masking is like...well STEM people have their reputation for a reason.
Edit: thinking about it more I might be biased by my own viewpoint here, I'm pretty sure there's plenty of people who are a lot better at math than me but are still irrational about personal things and would say that if they did something because they were mad at person A, whatever they did is person A's fault.

But yeah I think the biggest weakness is how everyone gets immediately convinced. I honestly thought that Uichi and Yotsuha working together to stop things before they happen was a good premise for the ending, but then it was just like... Immediately solved with no pushback, no need to rethink of solutions... The final arc didn't need to be LONG but like. 20 chapters to actually give to some meat and have them have to actually work for it would have been nice. I guess thinking back to Uichi's classmates, they were also pretty easily swayed, but they at least took more than one chapter to get there.

I've seen it way too often where people who are strong in "STEM" (especially math and the hard sciences, but even biology) way overestimate their intelligence/aptitude in other areas. Brilliant people, for sure, but they're not actually smart enough to understand the ways in which they are stupid and uninformed. I think people who are able to self-assess their competence in most any topic without ego are much rarer than "genius" types with very high IQ.

My PhD chemistry mentor was thus way: he knows a lot of math and physics but only thinks he knows geography and political science.

Hm....so she's basically been some sort of genius from birth, so intelligent that her own mother was freaked out? Darn, that must suck...

And uh, dude, that is NOT a good thing to teach your kid.

Yeah, I think it's partially because STEM and the type of cognition used for it often works differently from liberal arts fields, but a lot of STEM people feel inclined to approach everything from an engineering-type perspective even where it's not appropriate. That and thinking that because you're good at something difficult you must be a genius at everything.
Though to bring it back to Futaba, it might actually be pretty common for people who are reasonable and logical in professional contexts to be irrational in personal contexts because emotions get in the way of logic and people hold themselves to different standards. (Futaba at her most irrational and frankly stupid is coming in a chapter or 2)

Wow... well, F you too, Dad, I guess. (Not at the point of wishing your death but still !!)

But why is the Mother scared tho !? Because her daughter "acts more like an adult" ?

Newflashs, Ma'am : ADULTS ARE JUST OLD KIDS !!

Just talk to her as you would to your damn adult child then...

"Superior Intellect" and he still got murked by a crazy bitch. Bitch please:dogkek:

TBF, he was drugged and raped without any possible foresight on her intentions, not beaten into a freaking chess game.

The father sucks, he should off himself.

Funny you should say that... :wowee:

I think the dad also teaching her that being genius makes them superior and that she should just lie to mask her actual personality is best ... pretty much stunted any possibility of actual emotional and social growing on her part

real humble, dad.
And wow Father Complex much?
Wym "father complex"?? He's literally the only person that not only understands her, but actually accepts the real her, she literally had to cook up a whole different personality just to be accepted/treated normally

Her own mother said she was scared of her intellect.......

No bud, he didn't. Him ending up like that was literally due to Kazuha raping him, we already learned this when Mitsuha gave us his mom's backstory

Before he met her, Futuba's dad always had that goofball personality, that batshit mom ruined everything
