Do teachers do anything for actual bullying? Let’s be real, them not being present is the reason anything is being done. They’d sooner read the boy’s eulogy than possibly tarnish their and the school’s rep with a potential scandal getting outDo teachers just not exist in these stories?
A lot of the time no, of course. If this was real life, though, the teacher would cut their Phoenix Wright trial short because they don't give a shit and these lil bastards need to learn how to derive the angle of a slope by the end of the day.Do teachers do anything for actual bullying? Yeah, I've just done a google on this and you are indeed correct! Called "Ijime" in Japan, and it is a real problem. Try this article for starters...LOL, Japanese teachers are known for not giving a shit about bullying, either because they have little rights and could become targets themselves (Why Japan has so many movies about it), or because they just don’t care.
Like that case in Hokkaido where a student was sexually bullied really badly for several months by senpais, even hung upside down naked in the bathroom, and other stuff, which some teachers witnessed and did NOTHING about, not even report it to the school board. Or the infamous 14-year-old Saaya Hirose case who ended killing herself, which, as cruel as it was, the entire board was aware of, and yet they did nothing about it, confirmed by the chairman himself.
And that’s just two fairly recent cases.
Whenever you read a manga with bullying and see a teacher solving the situation, you can find Japanese comments saying shit like "Bullshit, the teacher wouldn’t do anything in real life!"
YAY !!!!!!!!!!Bitch is finally gone
Time for his family to die now
Thats the thing though, Yae' mother never abused him, just told him to not envy the lives of other people ("their lives is theirs, our lives is ours") and even noted how happy he was becoming. Compare this to Uichi's mother who is an abusive wreck of a woman... That is Yae's problem, he REFUSES to see the good he could have had because he is too obsessed with the good he actually wants for himself. Heck, given Yae has a SMART PHONE hints he may not even be poor anymore (sure Smart Phones can be cheap but if his mother was that badly off, how does he have it), making his excuse have LESS water!Yeah, he tried to bulldoze everything she said because he doesn't love Yotsuha at all, he's "in love" with the delusion of a perfect partner that will make him eternally happy that he projected onto her. He's traumatized by the broken home he was raised in, but instead of trying to break out of that cycle of abuse, he chose to cope by deluding himself and repeating that cycle by abusing Yotsuha and Uichi while justifying his abuse to himself as just him correcting Yotsuha's "mistake" and making sure they end up together because they're "destined" to be together. That's why he's so hopeful when she says they could be friends instead, all he really wants is someone to help him coregulate his emotions, but all his current friends don't do that because he created those friendships through manipulation so no one knows the authentic Yae. That's why once Yotsuha made it undeniably clear that she wouldn't be that perfect partner for him and wouldn't even be a source of emotional regulation as his friend, he lost all control and started physically attacking her.
His murder of Uichi didn't happen in this timeline, so he hasn't crossed that line here, and he's young so he can still turn things around for himself. IMO he's a child so as long as he doesn't cross that line where he'd be tried as an adult for his crimes, this is more on the family that abused him and the community and school system that failed to protect him and get him out of that abusive situation or at least provide the help he needs. Unfortunately, people just like him act like this both as children and well into their adult lives when they can abuse their power over other people on a daily basis....
