I like how the author depicts uichi's small mannerisms. He's clearly still hurt from the abuse, so to comfort himself he grabs and holds onto yotsuha's hand to try and calm himself down. It's the small things about how uichi acts in certain situations that make it really sad or really wholesome. Or both at the same time.

So far only 3 characters that have been introduced can be the mastermind; our MC, the new girl, or maybe the sister presuming the author doesn't invent a new character for the role. Time traveling yandere MC is probably the most likely option because new girl is probably a bit too obvious.

I do hope Uichi gets a bit more agency in the plot at some point, I'm not really super fond of damsel in distress plots (regardless of gender).

I do understand, it's definitely refreshing to have very active female characters. Whether it wouldn't make sense for his character, I'm not sure. Uichi's characterization was really strong in the early chapters, the fight between his determination to keep living for Yotsuha and the gradual breakdown because of circumstance was really compelling. I'm just slightly concerned that he's becoming more of a plot device rather than a character. I don't think it's at that point yet, but I could see that becoming the case.

I dont know what kind of plot twist will it be later on. Is it herself but different timeline? Or is another person that could possibly have the same ability doing this? Either way kill that guy for messing with Uichi

If I were to make my guess at this point, new girl is the one behind the time tech, and she's involved with both this looper Yotsuha and antagonist Yotsuha as she has no real stake in the game … or that her stake was Yotsuha herself.

That's a simple way to make an antagonist with enough potential for depth or complexity. It doesn't need to be entirely unpredictable, it just needs to hit hard enough to keep the story's momentum and fresh enough to keep the manga interesting.

Even though my first thought is that the new friend is the mastermind, we're only 22 chapters in. So in that respect, it would surprise me greatly if this was the case. Not to mention it's the most obvious answer, but you know... Occam's Razor and all that jazz.

Yae aint tragic, but it is kinda depressing to think his fellow bullying classmates (who he admittedly didn't care for in his selfish life) completely scapegoat him for their actions when clearly they didn't care who started the bullying back then, they just wanted an excuse to elevate themselves over an ace student. Mind you, many of these guys admired him as a leader and then betray him to defend themselves from ridicule (and that is BEFORE they learned how evil he was compared to them that made him unworthy of respect).

Now with the bullying culture falling apart they try to weasel their way into Uichi's good graces cause its the "hip thing now" and they don't want to be isolated from their peers for being bullies. As Yotsuba says, they are bad people too, and I say they are just the ones that got away with it (to some extent). And to think these are the "better ones" compared to the middle school peers that just wanted to kill Uichi for sadism... What a twisted school enviornment.

Nope, not just you. My gut tells me that girl is the puppetmaster and she wants Uichi(sp?) dead because she wants Yotsuha for herself. I just hope I'm wrong.
