Honestly I find this fascinating. As much of a psychotic evil monster the mother is, this shows she wasn't just born that way or became it on a whim. She was a product of her own environment and circumstances. Much like that maso-girl from several chapters ago, her "talent" became a curse that left her deprived of new experiences or the ability to truly connect with people.

And then the moment she found a way to see new sides of people, it became a hedonistic addiction she came to build her entire life around. It's interesting to think that if someone had shown her some actual anger or applied a firm hand to better direct her "love", she could have become... Something better than this.

This is how i understand it it: Yotsuha mother is a psycopath bitch he killed her husband and gave Yotsuha on "adoption" (throw her in the street) then she was whoring and got pregnant by Futaba's dad (a married man) and gave Yotsuha on "adoption" (throw her in the street) then used Yotsuha to blackmail that rich married man to the point that he commited suicide, Futaba angry, even more because probably by the time she got to know of the affair her dad had the bitch mother of Yotsuha was already dead, so "fu-chan" decided that since the culprit of her father's suicide is dead already the only target for her vengeance is her half sister (because it was because of her birth that the bitch could blacmail her dad)

Man this mom is something else, it’s hard to make a character both earnestly evil/sadistic and compelling- typically it just means boiling them down to one dimension

Sure the “I’m rich/happy and everything is perfect; I got bored of it and the only thing that’s interesting is it’s opposite” trope is pretty common, but I think it’s being used well here to make a sadistic figure of pure evil, bright and shining

Where they all need to be friends in the end. What about MC who was driven to suicide and his family destroyed? Hell, what about the one who MC stood up for and was driven to suicide.
