@Liar

Can't exactly dabble in politics while send out to war.
(IIRC historically speaking Qin had a habit of bribing officials to turn against pesky generals and the like.)

in the end, zhao fall because the king incompetent.
Riboku, instead with title Prime Minister, he better become a king. that way he can get what he want, a world with warring era with peace-politics.

I kinda feel sad for Riboku. The king in his arrogance and fear pulled him back from the battlefield and instead of focusing on solving problems, he is just giving out punishments and holes up in his castle. He hasn't been supporting Riboku and his troops as well as Sei did with his own army.
And even despite this, Riboku still thinks of how to save his nation, not caring that he was going to be punished because... what? He was outsmarted for once. It's sad when such a capable man has no trust in his abilities by his superiors. I mean, he had but not right now. He is degraded to a politican pawn.
Tsk, tsk. Tragic.

Anyway, now that he is out of the picture, it's a relief for Quin. Hopefully we can advance without as many casualties as before. Soon, the Quin army will be banging on the doors of Kantan! If there's any indication how soon it would be for us, readers, probably another year or two 😂

Riboku may be a genius tactician, but unfortunately the politicians do not look kindly on men like him.

You don't kill genius tacticians, you just make them take the back seat and give advice to new tacticians.

In a way though, Riboku talents is what lead to his downfall, the more he success at war and rising the ranks
the more he is feared because he is controlling too much armies, in the original history, i remember that there are some record that by the time of Riboku defending the capital, the King actually fear him because of how he actually control entire army and he can capable of turning on him at any moments, so that why the bribed works

on page 18, shouldn't it have been the Qin forces attacking "western Wei" not "western Zhao" that made a large scale retreat?
