I was hoping Kino would at least limp that kid, killing him is useless

This was beyhond retarded...
Imagine someone going to Woodstock in the '69, bombing the place and taking pot shots (pun intended) at random civilians, because one of the crackheads stole their bike. All endorsed by the local police...

Agreed. This chapter alone removed every bit of like and respect that I had for Kino, by reducing her to nothing more than a shooter, taking out a whole compound of people just to get her bike back, while picking off people that are just trying to run for their lives.

Seeing as the manga is now over, I will say this version of Kino I think is easily one of the worst, and I'm not just saying that cause of this one chapter.

The mangas are all based off the light novel chapters. So there is no "this" version of Kino. This is Kino, canon.

Also, the cult stole a sentient bike. It's not like shooting civilians at Woodstock. It's closer to shooting up Jonestown, if Jonestown also kidnapped your best friend.

Not condoning it, but wrong point, guys.

Add-on: TL just pointed out all the civvies running away were carrying bombs. So suicide bombers. She stopped killing them when they dropped the bombs and actually ran.

This chapter is fully in character with Kino. She's never been a hero type. She's an anti-hero. Her number one goal is survival, something trained in her since she had to kill the mother of the OG Kino in another chapter of the light novel. So she will kill civvies to even the playing field if there is even a chance of backstab. But she will stop once there is no danger.

I mean... You're not really an antihero if you're attacking a religious compound and killing a bunch of its defenders because you didn't get your bike back... for a day. It's not like any harm came to Hermes, and she didn't exactly try to negotiate, or just steal him back - she decided that five or more lives were worth ending because they wouldn't give him back 'right away'. That's obviously a villain, not an antihero.

(Also, it's 'like shooting up jonestown' - you do realize that the worst thing about Jonestown was that the followers got killed, right? Shooting them isn't exactly the solution)
