I decided to translate this manga because the previous translation appears to have been inactive for some time. I enjoyed the series and wanted to continue translating it.

Ever since he cleared his domestic dungeon, the story has been floundering.

Wow the Mc is dumb, if the scanner wasn’t really working what makes him think they’d work now. Almost as though if he’d show his ability he’d be fine.

I don't remember if they ever showed him thinking about this, but he probably knows his power is an anomaly, and if he revealed it before making a name for himself it would only lead to him becoming and experiment subject for the shady government organization.

The way he got his powers is entirely illegal and actually considered a pretty serious crime. He didn't report the dungeon when it showed up, he entered without a license and he cleared it. Clearing dungeons in particular is a pretty serious crime as that eliminates a national resource. So explaining how he got it is a no go.

Showing his powers doesn't work either as, as far as he and everyone he's encountered is supposed to know, his abilities shouldn't exist. Officially, you aren't supposed to get anything from the magic metals from black dungeons and those that know otherwise never saw anything like this before. He would be assumed to be a shapeshifting monster before they believe he's a person that actually got something like this from there.

Lastly, mc and everyone else isn't aware that his mana is anything other than 0. He's never actually witnessed a machine breaking from measuring him and his abilities and their source is different from the usual abilities people get from magic crystals. The only thing he knows is that he's different but not in a way he can measure, prove, or show.

its been so long that I forget the story

MC found a mini dungeon in his back yard that only had slimes in it, but they were metal slimes (iykyk), which dropped magic ore (different from magic crystals). He ate all the magic ore thinking it was a magic crystal. After he finished the boss of the dungeon, and ate that ore, he gained the ability to transform into a metal slime himself and absorb the powers of other crystals/ore he eats, but his magic power is a 0 (ore, pun intended, is it?). Feeling inferior to his childhood friends, he decided to study and join the same explorer's school as them despite his low (read: no) mana. During a training, monsters that were captured for study escaped into the training dungeon and the female childhood friend was separated. MC split off and transformed to go save her but got caught fighting a monster (well, monsters) that's considered extremely dangerous even by experienced explorer standards. Which stopped him from making it to her in time, so he had to flee before he was caught by the other friend and their classmate who got the credit for saving her even if they would have died if MC didn't go kill the Mantis and Arachne first. That's where this chapter picks up. It's condensed and off memory so I may have missed something.

He'll find a group that's basically toeing the line of legality in terms of guild functions, and they'll help him learn the truth behind his power and how to maximize his potential. He never went to the explorer school in the WN though, so that could change things

in the web novel, they both built a team of some of the best seekers who were strong enough to actually hurt him to capture him and then poisoned him once they caught him. They had no chill
