There's 3.8 billon happy romance stories out there. Positive ending body snatcher stories? Not so much.

A lot of isekai counts as body snatcher, at least what isn't portal fantasy kidnapping. I think too much body snatching is too positive with how often the original mind is killed or overweitten. Granted since no one was deleted this deserves the positivity more.

Feel free to send hate and angry epithets, I know I'm in the minority here.

It's not that rare to wish for something other than romance. I like Dee but he's usual while the hedge witch personal growth was unusually well done for a gentle SOL. If a translation of the novels crop up, maybe they don't push the romance over the witch events.

Fair. I'd argue that that's usually more a "possession" after the original user died from poison or suicide or whatever, but that's a semantic nitpick and not really the point. And, to be fair, I have nothing but anecdotal vibes for evidence, so maybe it is more common to "steal" the original body than not. I was more referring to "body snatching with a positive result" than say, glorifying the action. Still, fair point I hadn't considered.

Listen, I knew the writing was on the wall as soon as Dee showed up, but I was really hoping this wouldn't turn into a romance. Was really hoping for like, just happy slow life in the forest, learning magic and experiencing freedom. It's fine, it's pretty cute, and the obvious choice, but kinda boring because it's so obvious. There's 3.8 billon happy romance stories out there. Positive ending body snatcher stories? Not so much.

Most people's happy ending includes romance sooner or later. 🧉

Adding to the parallels with historical Europe, what Marietta was suggesting she would do with her relationship with Dee is very reminiscent of a chivalric romance, where she would just sort of pine after this man she couldn't have, and satisfy herself with being his close confidant.

She's not talking about the discrepancy between a knight and a princess/queen, she's talking about the discrepancy between a knight/minor noble and a witch. She thinks she'd drag him down socially, not that she's too high for him.
