So far it seems an unoriginal, relatively lighthearted thing. Might be good for a relaxing, zero-stress read. So long as you don't expect a great plot, of course.

I just hope it won't go down the forced humor route, like Taida did. I didn't like that in Taida, cause it felt too forced and wasn't funny at all for me. Ruined that manga for me...

"Asmodeus Scans" is the name, and if you go to their group page ( https://mangadex.org/group/07ae7dfe-3431-4de3-9681-4a5b95e2688e/asmodeus-scans ) it says that they broke clause 5.2.22 of the tos, which is, quote "use the Site as part of any effort to compete with us or otherwise use the Site and/or the Content for any revenue-generating endeavor or commercial enterprise".

If you need to read it, they have a website of their own, which you can find by searching the scanlation group's name in Google. I won't post the link here, but it is an option.

Jeez a lot of stuff i was reading was from asmodeus, this is gonna make a hole in a lot of chapter lists and alerts now I don't remember which ones I have to go look elsewhere and wont show up on updates either.

This is ironically driving me towards their website I can try to figure what series im reading from them that will disappear from my updates list

From what I have gathered, there was a group that was blatantly advertising paid content on the chapters, got caught redhanded, and blocked. They then went to mangadex discord support channel and asked why they got blocked, and they were given the clause, to which they replied ”many other groups do this, why only us?”, and a mod asked which groups had done the same thing, and you know the rest of the story.

caught this by pure chance, but this is essentially unreported behavior made aware by a third party that was doing the same, it was simply put a matter of time.

That being said, I don’t remember asmodeus advertising they had paid chapters, only that they had more chapters released early on their site (a chunk of which did not have a buffer of chapters between the free and paid ones). Not sure but to me it always felt kinda scummy, but I simply waited for months or for a snipe to make them release a good chunk here.

Anyway, it’s very likely no one reported them explicitly, so the mods were likely not fully aware.
