It's not just that but I think moreso Hajime is plain as day evil as you can see and then you have a fucked up MC who tries to pretend he's not a bad guy to society. The MC is self aware enough to realize he's a shitty person, but he also gives excuses like "nothing i can do" in terms of helping his clients and instead fucks them?

I hate the MC more because he's, in fact, too real as so many people are like this irl where any of us can be a "bystander" and not do the right thing out of our own convenience. There are monsters like Hajime out there for sure too, but monsters, even unintentional ones, in hiding are always scarier. Hajime calling him out in the latest chapter is what I was thinking as well.
