Aside from telling her daughter not to call her "mama" away from home, and the gut punch (which is really just a comedic manga/anime trope), it seems that Ameria's "punishment" for constant rule breaking was pretty darn light from someone who is supposed to be so strict. My guess is her mother just wanted to spend some time with her. "Your punishment is to spend the next 2 hours with me." Then her mother dressed her up in what she considered the proper manner and said how cute she was. Seems kind of like a doting mother who wants to spend some time with her daughter to me.

As for everyone complaining about quality...Kodansha is releasing this manga in English. I am sure their quality is pretty high, you'll just have to wait a while, as Volume 4 will be releasing in 2 weeks
