@Ironclad:

No, but there are other interesting legal questions—at least in the U.S. the precedents on whether you're on the hook for child support if you didn't engage in any activity that should normally have produced a baby, are, to say the least, interesting. Though the details in and around such cases can get kind of squicky.

@Makana149, well there's also the subtlety of the fact that, most likely, unlike previous precedents - these babies were born between a dragon and a human. So, there's a chance that there needed time for maturation would be shorter. And noone said they would stay babies until they fully matured. It took Aoi 200 years to become a full adult (dragon years), but there was no mention of when she hit adolescence. By that time, the constraints on him would be considerably lessened (depending on how they end up being like when they hit puberty lol)

Still, even assuming they grow normally and only need him for a few years: that's still a few years of his life being put on pause to care for "his" children. Even though it's fiction this whole situation is just frustrating to read for me. The MC just got baby trapped by a stranger and everyone around him told him to man up.

Well, if it was just taking care of the babies she could do it I think on her own but as the baby need that whatchamacallit magic from dad which she can't give and without it worse could happen to the babies then I see this as no other choice and MC is a decent guy so I saw him taking responsibility/pity from a mile away.
Also, they aren't alone in this. Seems like many other will support them any other way possible(MC's family).
Way different then most irl cases people talking about down comments.
