I disagree with the TL's note. Many of the older series hv the kind of innocence and simplicity that makes reading them relaxing and stress-free, unlike many modern manga which tend to complicate everything. IMO, they hv their unique charm and can def. hold their own against modern tales.
With modern life itself so complex, older series r like a breath of fresh air for they remind us of a childhood seen with eyes untainted by the reality experienced as grown-ups.
And let's not forget that those among them that hv withstood the test of time r bound to be classics, enjoyable for both those (now adults) that grew up reading/watching them as children as well as by each succeeding generation of kids.
