So we have kitsune waifus but also giant enemy spiders (even though he's probably not a bad guy). Don't know if I'd still want to live in such a world tbh.

Is this spider yokai really that surprised it took a knife from one of those kids? It was obviously a case of perceived mortal threat, and the human kids reacted naturally to a giant fucking spider (a foreign one mind you, huntsmen are an invasive species in Japan). If I were a Japanese person in this setting, I wouldn't be to accepting of the idea of Yokai policing Japanese people.
