Depends on the person. Allergic people could be in for a bad time even from a bite by a mostly safe species. Also some spider venom causes widespread tissue death. It's not life threatening (unless untreated at all), but could end in amputation. Also, they tend to hurt like an MF even if there are no complications.
My mom used to tell horror stories of a friend of hers who fell into a brown recluse nest as a kid. Her legs were cratered by all the bites and the resulting necrosis.

Yes, this is one species that is known for causing tissue death with it's venom. However, something is still strange in this story. Only a handful of spider species nest in groups and the brown recluse isn't one of them (kind of there in the name), so how did she get "all the bites"? A single spider isn't going to stick around to bite you multiple times, it'll attack reflexively once, rarely twice and beat feet to avoid getting squashed.

Yeah, that would be brown recluse spiders. Nasty little devils.

I told an Australian friend about them on Discord and their reaction was… memorable. Something along the lines of, “CHRIST!!! Ours just kill ya and are done with it, but these fuckers maim you for life!?”
