normally yeah, but if you start with this premise... commit! It's like incest stories that chicken out "we are stepsibling actually", or "demon lord revenge" stories that then make MC a literal saint but with horns. Commit to your premise!

Weeell, I think it's still fine for the ending. At least for me, it's kinda feel not rushed even if maybe this series got axed.
I mean, it's not bad but it's not good tho. I even expecting the ending will more worse or much rushed, but somehow I feel relieved when saw the ending.
I think this kind of trope need to be carefully handled because in the same time it's has a p*do**lia element.
From the start, I feel this series are using serious tone and we saw the MC seriously think about their feelings to underage girl which it's feels so complicated for me. I'm already not surprised if this series got axed because the flow of the story.

It may be the smoothest axed ending ever, but I'm not okay with it.

Like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, this was poised for greatness yet cemented itself in mediocrity.

I'm not a fan of half-assery: this author tried to walk the line between the cheeks and fell into the hole.

I think that Bouldering manga might have been a little smoother. I also suspect Even if it Was Just Once I Regret it might have been axed due to the side characters not being resolved, but the main plot still ended perfectly. In this, the childhood friend character had no time to do anything in this. It definitely felt a little clumsy, but it’s not the worst axe I’ve ever seen. The fact there are apparently extra chapters smoothes it a bit.

i can only hope there are extra chapters to come out and give us a true ending cause ending it like this is pretty annoying

but again will say least we got the confirmation that they love each other and is basically a couple now but still i wanna see more

all in all this series was great i just hate the fact it pretty much got cut short like it did when it could have kept going but it is what it is

guess i'll check out the new series this creator made and see if its any good but somehow i feel it wont be nearly as good as this series was

The ending preserved the pairing without going full degen. As good as you can hope for.

Would have preferred a time skip ending where Mai is old enough to convey her feelings even after so long.

No matter how old you get, authors chickening out will forever be a part of this medium. Oneexloli is sacred and one must have the courage to see things through properly. Not everyone is capable of such great feats.

The ending was alright, it needed a couple of volumes to resolve everything. Too bad we don't get to see Asuma san in jail.
The last part was a joke.
