@SuperOniichan I actually already started feeling Kiyo's behavior resembles a lot of someone's with autism.
Ever since the first chapters you can see how some characters describe her as 'weird', her mind shutting off when it's not about stuff she's interested in (aka food or anything related to kitchen) which was the reason she was not cut out to be a maiko, Suu mentioning Kiyo stays in her own world sometimes (such as talking to nonsentient objects), among other things.
Obviously we don't have evidence to believe it was the author's intent and they probably just wrote these as traits to make her character endearing to the viewer. But then we have to go through the frustration of what we talked about in this chapter, so imo seeing Kiyo as an autistic girl with flaws makes her more human than the simple interpretation of her being an overly innocent girl that does everything in a robot-like way just because she feels like it.
