It's kind of fair, you know. Su-chan has almost everything that Kiyo doesn't. She got to be a Maiko, everyone admires her, has a lot of friends. Meanwile Kiyo is stuck in the kitchen. So it's only fair the guy Su-chan wants actually likes Kiyo. It's just gives their dynamic some balance. Otherwise Su-chan would have everything, and that's just too much.

too bad japanese tradition and values are ass backwards otherwise they could start a polycule and all be happy
As someone who's both been in one and have observed countless poly relationships from the outside, let me fill you in a little, It's a fucking horrid mess of a system. Most men I know who got into it ended up single and on hard drugs to cope. Most women either end up in jail or killing themselves.

It's better to either find someone devoted to you or split as soon as you find out they're not. Lust is nice and all but it isn't durable in long term circumstances, our psychology just isn't built to handle it.

I wonder if we'll ever get Kiyo's perspective on this love triangle situation. She's Sumire's best friend and they're around each other a lot, so I think there's a good chance she's figured out how Sumire feels about Kenta, but I don't think Kiyo's aware of Kenta's feelings. I would not be at all surprised if she's not interested in a relationship at all and has been quietly rooting for Sumire this whole time.
same, we don't actually get to explore her most inner thoughts and feelings that much in the story, at least not as much as sumire. and whenever it's her pov, it's still just mostly about what to cook haha, unlikes say if we're shown kenta and we see his internal conflicts
