You'd think they'd start realizing that maybe his special skill is actually worth investigating and treating him bad is a bad idea...

And anyways, once we resolve the issues with the MC being underestimated and finally being properly appreciated, the author just kinda drops everything of the main story and started making up backstory to heavily make the MC and the Sage who was such a huge pain in the ass somehow best of friends who became estranged at some point and are working so hard to rekindle their friendship to the level of me wondering if it's trying to appeal to fujoshis and really just kinda dragged on to no end, completely deviating from the main premise of the story... That it does make you wonder if the author can do something without their main foil of ignorant prideful people in power getting one-upped by a constantly underestimated MC.

Also I have no idea if we got anywhere beyond there, because I went back to check and there has yet to be any chapters moving past that story which makes me think that yeah, the author had no idea where to go and it either got dropped by the translation team or it literally just died at the source.
