Is the "you won't suffer" some kind of japanese superstition thing (like similar to saying "bless you")? Reads kind of odd, otherwise, but even then it seems odd that their repentance requires him to say it, unless it's some way of saying "apology accepted".
yeah I am very confused by that choice of code-/safety-word.

Every new chapter is another chapter that I wait patiently for the two retards in charge to have their comeuppance. Silently waiting. Month after month. The longer it takes the better it will taste. The better the schadenfreude.

Do the principal and his lackey exist just to make MC look good? What is even their end game? Honestly it just seems like the author beating a dead horse

"You won't suffer" is a messed up translation of the original 苦しゅうない (kurushuunai).

It just means "no problem/no objection/it doesn't matter". If you want to include some nuances: it's an archaic verb adjective form that would be said from somebody of higher status to somebody of lower status.

How do you get to "you won't suffer": that expression is an archaic negative form of 苦しい (kurushii), which is an adjective meaning painful, hard, difficult, stressful, etc.

So the idea is that when somebody thanks you, you answer with something along the lines of "Don't worry about it. It wasn't a big deal for me. I'm not suffering because of it".

As is very common in Japanese, the expression doesn't include a subject - i.e. you have to figure out who's "suffering" from the context. They guessed "you".

(Disclaimer: this was the first time I met 苦しゅうない, and the above is what I found out after googling for a few minutes)

I wonder how many ch until the principal’s incompetence gets revealed to the public. At this rate it’s getting kind of a routine.

Had me thinking there was a new chapter 🥲 FUCK YOU AGS
It's actually is. On their own and other aggregator's cites chapter 22 was released. Genuine continuation, and start of inevitable fall of slavery.
How many seconds until Team Rocket blasts off again I wonder
Start on last three pages of chapter 22 and continued thru entire chapter 23.

A'ight, lemme field this one.

Basically, as mentioned, this is the entire thing. This is the schtick. You will see it to the very end. But the end game?

It's really simple: Conservative Mindset + Skill Elitism + Noble Elitism = WE CANNOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, ADMIT TO ANYONE THAT THIS CHILD HAS TALENT, EVEN WITH OVERWHELMING PROOF. WE MUST CRUSH THIS ABERRANCY, WHICH UNDERMINES THE UNDERPINNING OF OUR GREAT AND NOBLE SOCIETY!

They aren't the only ones making Leopin look good. The students, by and large, don't believe he's worth anything despite the evidence. He must be cheating. He's definitely trash. There will be others, providing the manga goes on long enough. But the schtick will remain the same. Well, potentially with one exception, but I'm not even sure whether they're going to adapt that particular part, or continue the schtick past the WNs (abrupt) ending. Won't be the first time that's happened, if it does.

It's by no means the only story with this kind of elitism leading to an expulsion, pleeeeenty of examples out there. It's just that this one stands out because the zamaa is constant and nigh unending, rather than "Eventually, these assholes will get theirs, and we can finally enjoy Harem/Budding Romance/Royal Road Shenanigans/Unresolved 'AND SUDDENLY DEMON KING' by itself..."

For many, it stands out in a bad way. I personally quite like it, but I understand everyone's got their tastes, and I wish them well in finding something they enjoy.
