The reason why, as to how I've read this manga so far, is the presentation of competency.
In other manga, if MC is doing the same thing as Noah here, it'll be a flood of praises and shaft stroking while in this manga, all praises and words of congratulations feels more like business and professional minded. The servants and followers from a lower standing does the shaft stroking praises, which is kinda expected but not in an excessive manner while others make it more as if they're on a business meeting.

Truly a good piece of trash of a manga this is.

I get what yr sayin but I think it was more along the lines of him talking in terms of contingency sake, "if" she can't bear him an heir the younger sister often takes the role. Atleast that's what I took from that

Oscar was the Financial Minister and Noah gave him hints that the Emperor was considering changing the Crown Prince. He at the least recognizes Noah as being extremely capable.

I agree with the idea of Henry forfeiting, he's the closest to Noah in terms of relationship, and in the early chapters gave Naoh the information about Leviathan having a will.

Concubines in general. Rulers, especially competent ones tended to have large numbers of women for the sole purpose of spreading their genes as much as possible.

If having one child of a genius is good, why not 5, why not 10, or 20?

While he is already married with his granddaughter, he can still have concubines, and the first male offspring will become Noah's successor.

That's why he said "i bet everything on Noah". If he wanted to be sure to have connections to the next emperor, he could send his second grandaughter to another candidate, hoping that she would conceive the first son among the legal wife and concubines, yet he decided to bet everything on Noah
