The one thing I love in knight run is how it blurs the line between right and wrong, and every motivation is quite grounded in reality (AL tries to become the sole governance of humanity, befalling the Zails. Ideally the Zails should choose to be assimilated, but realistically, they too are a government and they have the fighting force needed to kill the AL before AL become stronger.). As characters' motivation are defensible, we get protagonists and villains that aren't shallow, and the conflicts are enjoyable.
