i mean they could have intercepted their informants or just kept them under wraps the British and Americans use radar on aircraft extensively in ww2 but the germans never found out

Those two things are on completely different levels of subtlety. If they don't know about their airships, they shouldn't even be aware of the fact that they're currently at war.

if nobody lives to tell them they will never find out its that simple add in a bit of misinformation, espionage, and the fact a flying boat is an insane idea they would probably brush it off as misunderstanding or something else entirely
also lets look at a more recent event the caspian sea monster. this is the late1960s a time with spy satellites and radio. The USA saw the ekranoplan but still wasn't able to figure out what it was or what it was used for and thanks to soviet counterintelligence efforts the USA only figured out what it was in the 1980s it took the CIA 20 fricken years to figure it out and that's with such modern tech

I get where you're coming from, but first of all they would need to leave basically no survivors and block all means of communication which would also leave the nation unaware of them being attacked, secondly the purpose/use of the airship is rather straight forward (assault and troop transport), even if discerning how they work is an entirely different thing.

If I were to come up with a reason for them being undiscovered, it's reasonable for the spread of information to slow down/become more difficult during wartime and maybe the airships have so far been barely used.
