Call me based or what you like, but I'm not sold on the resolution they decided with the bad guy: the guy had his entire life practically destroyed by the actions of a race of selfish creatures that treat them as either contemptible worms that ought to be destroyed or self-righteous overlords that think little of their interests, yet when one of them (humans) finally snaps and decides to pay them back, they tell him "yeah, thing is we changed our ways because power of friendship, so we forgive you and think you should find someone like that too... but not with the family and loved ones of yours we murdered, you'll have to find others". I mean, at the very least I want one of them (dragons) to realize just how much they caused this suffering themselves.

@VladDracul2 I think that's something for Kimun to do, not only he has to think about his action but he has to deal with the bad guy too ... So that's still in the air.

@Vasqueztion that picture has so much meme potential that I Can't believe is the first time I see it!!

This is also the first chapter I can read in mangadex since the DDOS started!

I really agree. It always vexes me when the heroes go on a moral speech on the enemy they just defeated like that, not everyone is lucky enough to find a person to rescue them, some will never do so. And his reasons to seek revenge were perfectly justified and valid.
It's really easy to say such things from a higher vantage point and don't have to suffer alone in a pit like he was doing so. In another story he'd be the hero on a righteous cause for revenge but alas.

really that saekawa is a bad influence

@VladDracul2 do you care about an ant walking in your arm? maybe if the ant bite, you will be angry and kill the ant but at the end of the day it will be forgotten because is just an ant...

@kaminomikan That isn't an equivalent comparison as humans cannot interact with ants like dragons can interact with humans. You do remember that it was the human who influenced the dragons to go to war, which is not something any being lesser than humans can do.

You also don't forget the interactions you've had with those who have had an impact on your life either.

@Liquidxlax you are dragging the dragons to human lvl, using my previous comment is like trying to compare humans with ants, and not going too far there are ppl that see ppl of other countries as something below them. Humans influence dragons to go to war, ants influence humans into laying layers of poison in their homes and gardens to get rid of them... so...

@VladDracul2 @Midoriha He had reasons to seek revenge on someone. But on the whole race of dragons? The whole race of dragons didn't kill his people. Some particular dragon or dragons did. It's like if some Portuguese guy murdered your family--that doesn't mean you'd have a good reason to go commit genocide in Portugal, it means you'd have a reason to take revenge on that guy.

@Purplelibraryguy It wasn't a single dragon that destroyed his life and then demanded that he get back up immediately, it was a group of chaos-aligned dragons that burned his home and family down to the ground and a group of order-aligned dragons that didn't care about their losses and ordered them to stop moping and start building, and all of this because humanity in its entirety is caught in the crossfire of the squabbles of the dragon race, which makes what happened to him go around and around in a never-ending cycle, happening again and again. So yeah, he's got reasons to be angry at them all; undoubtedly over the top, much of them undeservedly and without any care about anybody else that got caught in-between his machinations, but then again, the dragons were doing the same thing to humanity, so revenge with a reason.

At the end of the day an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

He also involved people who weren’t directly involved besides being dragons, like Kanna, who isn’t old enough to have been around when his backstory happened.

Okay, some or all of what many people here have written is correct, but consider this story more in terms of descriptive morality than of prescriptive morality. That is to say, consider it a story about creatures who have been living by a very different morality now struggling to adopt a new understanding of it. Various of them have done terrible things; various of them have attempted terrible things. Rightly or wrongly, they imagine redemption for themselves; rightly or wrongly, they allow for the possibility of redemption for others whom they have taken to have done or attempted terrible things.

@Midoriha

Imagine if this was real life.

"People from country X raided my village and killed my family. Therefore I will kill everyone from their race, regardless of their role in the murders."

@VladDracul2 Can't agree, very dangerous line of reasoning. I come from a place in the world where a similar line of thinking has caused 30 years of civil conflict and over 50,000 injured or killed, most of which were civilians caught in the crossfire. Why? Because two small groups had ethno-nationalist differences and everyone loosely related to one group or the other were tarred with the same brush and targeted as well by the other group. To this day it still rears its ugly head on occasion with people who have done abso-fucking-lutely nothing to anyone being killed or injured because they belong to a certain group.
