I mean considering what we are told about how the Noble Butterfly's work, it's kind of literally not her fault that she's acting like this because her personality has been overwritten with pure faction loyalty.

Which doesn't mean that she's at all likely to be redeemed or anything it's just another highlight of the tragedy that is humanity's survival in this world.

Funny you mentioned that especially since they just discussed about coloring thingy. What if Ayumi color overrides Reika and Reika returns to her old self? And she also colors that other friend of hers from previous chapter.

It's possible that ayumi is a black butterfly queen, a solitary queen which retains love, but lacks any followers. The whole despair could be her wanting to be with others, but having to remain solo because other butterflies dislike those not of their kind
