Thx for the chpt. Im very confused whats going on with the cannibal ritual though. It seems like they go through some kind of transformation that allows them to eat someone whole. Its messy, but not nearly as messy as eating a person raw should be. And interupting bird masks transformation chopped his legs off? A

As I got it their masks let them transform into a tiger, a literal tiger that can easily chomp-chomp a human. And they do so by temporarily turning into flames. And when the girl interrupted the dude's transformation his legs had already turned into flames. So his legs didn't got chopped off, he just had no legs when his transformation was interrupted
