@goarachnidlaser - You're REALLY trying to justify her, aren't you? Just because it has a comedy label on it, doesn't mean it's literally only comedy. Even Grand Blue, D-Frag, etc that is 99% comedy has its moments of seriousness.

Please, explain to me how her being heartbroken and crying is comedic and not the author trying (in vain) to garner her some sympathy because she found out the guy she likes is "dating" another girl. Hell, she only hit the guy because she was upset. How is that supposed to be funny?

Just stop while you're ahead man. Even back in the day where this shitty troupe was made popular, most females that did this crappy shtick weren't this aggressive and emotional.

He has had this ailment for YEARS and she didn't do anything during that time while he was shunned in elementary nor did anything to get him out of his reclusiveness afterwards. On top of knowingly calling him a nickname he hates and using violence at a drop of a hat she's fucking surprised why he hates her.

You need to re-read chapter 4, specifically the panel that says: "Since that day, I have been shunned by everyone."
You know who wasn't shunned? His sister. Even though she lived in the same place with the same parents.
Maybe, just maybe, he caused things by having a terrible attitude, not because the kids at his school were randomly puritanical.

He was a child too, and his trust had just been betrayed by a close friend. We're not talking about something trivial like "she stole my candy", but about something that completely annihilated his social life.
Again, I don't buy that having sex-shop owning parents magically made him a pariah. Even if it somehow did, she had no idea she was betraying anything.

Then he encounters her again in college, and what happens?
(Chapter 1) She deliberately triggers his rash. She may have done this to save his hide, but she had plenty of other options, such as: "I know this guy. He's allergic to women. Besides, I saw the molester; it's that other guy."
She calls him "testicles" because he chooses to ignore her, even though she knows better than anyone why he dislikes her. She's no longer a child at this point, so "no malice" no longer applies.
She tries to explain her actions from when she was a child, but we never once see her trying to apologize for what she did. There's no sign she even feels guilty in the first place. And then she even kicks him because he's not listening, instead of simply retreating and trying again some other day.
(Chapter 7) She threatens him by grabbing his shirt, then triggers his rash for no real reason.
(Chapter 9) She punches him in the face because announces he has a lover.

Granted, she IS written as an annoying ultra-tsundere. Just saying that him blaming her for his life being destroyed is absurd. Hell, even if the other kids did shun him just because of that, that'd be on the kids.

Yes, Tamaki is being an asshole to her, but only when she approaches him. Not once has he tried to make her life shitty, like she's done for him (even if it was unintended).
He intentionally tries to make her feel shitty.

You're REALLY trying to justify her, aren't you?
Hell yeah. If nothing else, there's always value in trying to see a story from another perspective.

Just because it has a comedy label on it, doesn't mean it's literally only comedy.
Absolutely. That's my point, as a matter of fact. I don't need to get mad at the violence, or the ecchi or all that's clearly there to be funny. The more serious parts, like emotional outbursts should be the ones taking seriously.

@Goarachnidlaser - What the fuck do you even mean? The only thing we saw was her forcing her way into someone's life that is legitimately afraid and angry with her, and then her acting like she's his wife and caught him with another woman. There is no other perspective to even see here.

Do you even pay attention to what it is you say?

"It's a comedy manga. This is like getting angry at Akane for getting violent with Ranma. Sure, this level of violence would be assault and hospitalization for the victim in the real world, but come on, it's a silly comedy manga."

How is her emotional outburst, as in punching the guy like a bitch, not being serious? Just wow, It's been a long time since I've seen this level of delusion. So this what we've come to, simping on Twitch isn't enough. Now we got people simping for a 2d character. This is embarrassing.

Or, her trying to repair a relationship with a guy whose complex she feels responsible for, and likes, and being upset at getting her heart broken.

Just wow, It's been a long time since I've seen this level of delusion. So this what we've come to, simping on Twitch isn't enough. Now we got people simping for a 2d character. This is embarrassing.
Sure. Can't wait to pay for her bath water.
Look, I get that we have preconceptions when reading a story, and having them challenged feels bad and even offensive, but come on.

You know who wasn't shunned? His sister. Even though she lived in the same place with the same parents.
You know who else also wasn't shunned? He himself, before Koharu betrayed him. Nice try, though.

Maybe, just maybe, he caused things by having a terrible attitude, not because the kids at his school were randomly puritanical.
Or maybe, just maybe, it was a case of bullying the only guy who lives in a (giggle giggle) sex shop (LOL).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bullying

Again, I don't buy that having sex-shop owning parents magically made him a pariah. Even if it somehow did, she had no idea she was betraying anything.
Kids really like sending each other dick pics, and they love to make fun of others for the smallest reason. Living in a sex shop is very obvious and juicy bait for bullying. Even if she had no idea she was betraying anything, she witnessed the bullying and still hasn't done anything to try and apologize after they've become adults.

Granted, she IS written as an annoying ultra-tsundere. Just saying that him blaming her for his life being destroyed is absurd. Hell, even if the other kids did shun him just because of that, that'd be on the kids.
I couldn't help but notice how you've been repeatedly ignoring the part where she has never tried apologizing to him even once.
Even without any intention to cause harm, a semi-normal person would've apologized. Why do you expect Tamaki to be that person, but not Koharu?
You really are being disingenuous, you know that?

He intentionally tries to make her feel shitty.
She's the reason his entire life has been shitty up to now (and still is, considering he isn't cured yet), and she doesn't even look sorry.
Of course he's going to be rude to her whenever she talks to him. That's not the same as making someone's life shitty. And even if talking to Tamaki represents her life, that's her problem, not his. She'll either have to move on or, you know, apologize.

So your point is what exactly?

Nice try, though.
It's more than a nice try. Same circumstances. Different results. Why is that?
Because the difference here is Tamaki overreacting, since we have an instance in which a kid living over a sex shop retained her popularity.

Or maybe, just maybe, it was a case of bullying the only guy who lives in a (giggle giggle) sex shop (LOL).
Plenty of manga MC's are bullied, some of them badly, and don't go insane. In this case we don't even see Tamaki getting bullied at all.

I couldn't help but notice how you've been repeatedly ignoring the part where she has never tried apologizing to him even once.
Do we know that? They've clearly interacted in the past. There's years of history between these two.

@Goarachnidlaser - If that's her trying, then holy hell is she trash-tier. Do you even read the story? From day one she's made his life even more miserably and still feels like she's justified in acting the way she does. She's done literally nothing to make amends for it. Is you're reading comprehension that bad? Name ONE thing she's done to try and repair their relationship. Seriously, just ONE time where it wasn't her acting selfish and genuinely wanted to help him and apologize.

There is nothing to be preconceived about. Both are annoying and edgy, but she takes it to another level. it's honestly disconcerting watching you bash the guy and justify all of her actions just because she... Likes him? Just based on this little triad of defending her, I bet you'd be one of the first to bash the guy and no longer consider it comedic if he was the one punching her when upset.

Pretty much everyone here considers both characters unlikable, yet you're the only one not finding it messed up she's this abusive and erratic... Because it's got a comedy label and she likes him? That's just pathetic. Continue acting like she's a saint I guess, but until she actually does what you claim her to be trying and not being an abusive twat, Imma sit here and laugh at you defend her this badly.

First time we see them, defended his innocence in front of a full bus and then tried to expain herself before Tamaki instantly shut her down.

Pretty much everyone here considers both characters unlikable,
Except that's not true at all. if anything, i'm one of the few who do find both unlikable. Pretty much every other comment is supporting Tamaki, since he's the MC, and hating on Koharu and claiming she ruined Tamaki's life, since that's the MC's point of view.
What I'm saying is, go deeper than that. Don't get stuck in the surface of the story. Maybe there's more. Maybe Tamaki caused his own undoing more than anybody else.

I bet you'd be one of the first to bash the guy and no longer consider it comedic if he was the one punching her when upset.
This is not a double standards issue. Cartoonish violence is not the same as realistic violence whether the victim is male or female.

@goarachnidlaser - I already said, Imma just sit here and laugh at you. Nothing you've said, or clearly at this point will say, has any merit and you're just being delusional. Also, you've not said ONE thing bad about her. You've literally sat here, blamed it all on the MC, claiming he's the reason for his predicament and none of it is her fault and she's somehow the better person for abusing him and forcing herself to be in his life.

Seriously, you've not said ONE bad thing and argue that her interactions with him are the result of cartoon violence and therefore what she's doing isn't serious and ONLY funny. You can reply back all you want, but nothing will change. You're just gonna ignore everything else and vehemently argue she might as well be a saint and he's a bitch for being traumatized.

Fyi: re-read the comments, not only me but other people as well pointed out he's an angry edgy turd, unlike you who's only bashed the MC.

It's not cartoonish. This is not her smacking him over the head and leaving a comedic swollen bump. This is a brutal, straightforward punch to the face that looks like it broke his nose.

It's more than a nice try. Same circumstances. Different results. Why is that?
Because Koharu was Tamaki's classmate, not his sister's?
Because Tamaki and his sister weren't in the same class?
Because Tamaki's older sister may have already graduated school?

There's plenty of possible reasons, it's not rocket science. Are you really that daft?

Plenty of manga MC's are bullied, some of them badly, and don't go insane. In this case we don't even see Tamaki getting bullied at all.
And plenty of manga MC's do go insane. Off the top of my head:
Revenge Classroom: https://mangadex.org/title/13992/fukushuu-kyoushitsu
Suicide Bombing Classroom Club: https://mangadex.org/title/34358/kyoushitsu-jibaku-club
Prison Lab: https://mangadex.org/title/19252/prison-lab

So?
Your argumentation sounds like: "most people don't get bullied, so bullying must be a myth."

Do we know that? They've clearly interacted in the past. There's years of history between these two.
I thought I told you to re-read Chapter 4. The very same page (page 17) says: "I didn't interact with people until I graduated. Even in middle school and high school, no one knew who I was."

Years of history, with no interaction whatsoever.

Her not knowing where he went to school, or not having the courage to talk to him, is one thing.
Her attending the same classes in college, demanding thanks, beating him and deliberately causing his rashes, without even attempting to apologize for the past whatsoever, is a completely different thing altogether.

First time we see them, defended his innocence in front of a full bus and then tried to expain herself before Tamaki instantly shut her down.
Why apologize when you can provide a perfectly valid reason for why you destroyed someone's health and social life, am I right?

So, you believe Tadaki's sister had friends going over there, sleepovers, plenty of school life... but nobody ever found out. Yeah, no.

Your argumentation sounds like: "most people don't get bullied, so bullying must be a myth."
No, my argumentation is actually that we don't see said bullying. And if existed, what the extent was. You're just assuming.
But the bits and pieces we do get to read show us Tamaki going nuts over nothing.

Why apologize when you can provide a perfectly valid reason for why you destroyed someone's health and social life, am I right?
Again you feel the need to see a kid talking about a sex shop as some sort of evil mastermind. That's kinda weird.

Knowing the trope, this violent gorilla is going to win the love war because of bad writing.
I wish that "gag" would die off already.

Edit: Actually, yes apparently.
Adults can end a disagreement.
You seem unable to.
This disagreement has gone on long enough, no?
