Yeah, why such a short chapter? What the heck?

*this is sarcasm, I forgot the italics I guess.

Um how could you have gotten to chapter 158 without noticing most of them are this short?

that's the reason this manga and Minamoto Kun Monogatari piss me off, those goddamm short chapters. Like, what the hell? 6 pages?

Just caught up.
Pretty annoying most of the main plot problems are "I can't tell you right now". Like fucking seriously? Do we really need to wait 200 chapters to have the pot boil over?
After reading this many chapters I still can't tell you what most of the characters are like. It's annoying that this can tackle larger issues and it's just constantly Neji sitting around moping and being greedy. I want to marry my childhood friend (Takasaki) but I also don't want my marriage partner (Sanada) to find someone else. At least Sanada doesn't have any previous baggage like the other characters.
The whole RomeoxJuliet arc was blow your fucking brains out status.

And I think I've figured out, or mostly figured out what the issue is. It's been hinted at with the two flashback arcs. You can get a partner who is older than you. Sometimes by a lot.
So then here's the question. How does the ministry handle a minor being matched with someone of age?
Does the person who turns 18 get all the information? Or simply a notice saying to wait X years?
Do both individuals immediately get notified regardless of age?

These are important questions. Possibly because one character might have been matched by someone older.
Unless it's the incredibly obvious Takasaki x Nisaka thing. I just figure the author will red herring it the whole series.
Just let the Ministry coworkers fuck again. Where she's already upset in her marriage. He's obviously ignoring his. Neither gave up on the other. Just fuck.

@shoker IIRC you don't get the government notice until both parties are 16. And guys generally don't get theirs when they're 16, they usually have to wait a few years to find out, simply because their partners are younger.

As much as I can understand the benefits of arranged matches, imagine how frustrating and restraining it must be to know that every day after you turn 16 you might get a government notice. I mean, you could go through until you're 21 (that one character, the one who didn't want an otaku, said her partner was 5 years older) and decide 'well maybe this person I've met could be worth dating for a while, I might not get my notice for years yet', and then you could really fall for them and have things thrown into turmoil with a notice.

Tbh, with the Nikasa thing, and possibly with Takasaki too, I think all their testing has thrown up some anomaly. Nikasa's probably gay (or maybe that's my inner BL fan wish) and idk, maybe Takasaki is infertile or something? Those two things would be obvious hindrances to a 'happy hetero marriage'.
