i mean clearly not, why would he go through the hassle of making this convoluted system where he tells the guy everything he knows about love-eaters just to have him get eaten? it does put into question how accurate his information, such as there being 4 love-eaters, is, but it's more likely that they're screening him for some bigger purpose. it's a test, not a trap.

Maybe he's using MC for some personal experiment too lol, after all Gabu's 'eaten' some ppl who confessed to her but it's not as if there was any foreshadowing/rumor/news like "A handful of male students suddenly dropped out/went into comas/hospitalized" or disappeared, if it's just eating their love emotions as opposed to turning them into 'meotionless husks'
