When we see Fumi and Akari, it is in a flashback to when he was working as an assistant director. This was several years before he was working as a talent manager. Ayano was in the business as a child actor already, but Fumi had not yet met her.
When we see Ayano in this chapter, it is the current events. Anything we see happening when she is on screen is occurring long after any events we see occurring between Fumi and Akari.
The blending of perspectives is deliberate. Not because the events are occurring at the same time, but to show the audience the similarities between his relationship with Ayano and Akari; both reaching out to someone lonely.
But, the things we see are still in the past. The conversation Akari and Fumi are having about her father occurred before he was working as a manager for Ayano.
