Thanks for the chapter! Yeah I agree with the above comments; while the initial premise was perfect for angst, the author doesn't really do anything in the setting beside introducing new threats every now and then.
The flashbacks are good (not like they can do anything else to elaborate on what happened between the years) but what's happening in real time is so dull and slow. Maybe it's better in novel form, since seeing the same backgrounds over and over in the manga adaptation is pretty boring.
Sorry for the harsh criticism (this is not directed at the scanlator btw) I love angst like this and it's a shame this one gets dragged on this way.
Yeah, but this one makes the Bright thing more deliberate, he was leading her on and trying to get her closer to Rosalie, maybe angling for a threesome, or keeping his options open to see which one could get him a brighter future (like if there's some big inheritance going to a different one than expected).
At the start it just seemed like he was a friend of the family, that found himself between two sisters, when he clearly had a preference for one over the other, but used the one-sided feelings of the other to save his girlfriend.
At this point I'm not sure I'd be surprised if this turned out to be one of those "reborn into an otome game" stories, and Bright was a reincarnator.
