I can 1000% guarantee you it's a cheap aluminum lookalike; kinda like those stainless steel wallhanger things you see in truck stops for 20-30$. The kinda flea market junk the sword community call SLOs (sword-like objects).

Reason being is, well, for 1, they're underage (pretty sure in Japan you have to be 18 or 20 to buy an actual sword), for 2, Japan has severe restrictions on owning weapons of any kind; most iaito used in martial arts aren't even steel, but aluminum.
