The ship is cute and all, but I mostly like how this chapter establishes that the makeup in the story is about being something you are instead of something you're not. Dolling up like a clown made her feel like a clown but accenting what she honestly was let her shine through and got the job done.

Meh. It's make-up, it's inherently fake, like a costume. She was subtly something she wasn't instead of outlandishly other.

I was disappointed Midou didn't do a classy gyaru job on her. (It wouldn't be any more artificial than cat ears and a tail.) She could have walked in (with Hiura and Midou, to support her in case she gave herself a heart attack) and in the ensuing hubbub, pulled Saotome to one side and to try talking to him.
