Oh shit i love bio ethics!
Oh... it is Miina again being dumb and not paying attention in class, also the chapter didn't link with the topic of the class
I was hoping for you know, maybe a family member of one of the students falls in a coma, and now the family has to debate whether they keep them on life support or not after they were pronounced brain death
Or... maybe someone is considering artificial insemination in order to get pregnant, and run into complications between getting her family and the sates approval for the procedure, but once they get it, they get different issues with the pregnancy
Or... one of the students is from a family of farmers, and they are offered an exploitative contract to replace all their corps with GMO seeds from a food mega corporation, the GMO seeds are more resilient, yield bigger crops, and the produce last longer, but they deplete the soil faster, and the contract requires for them to only plant and do business with that corp's seed for a set number of years, and while that would allow the family to keep themselves a float for the immediate future, their farm would end up infertile once the contract ends, and on top of that they would become dependant on the product ecosystem of the corporation in order to keep their business not just to save the land of farm itself, but to also to sell their goods, and keep the good standing with the commerce network
Instead it is just another Miina chapter
She also sandbagged the previous chapter that covered how xenophobia is build into modern structured societies in order to keep them working by having a designated lower class to be exploited and blamed for the inherent issues of modern capitalism, we could have had a transfer student or someone with Ainu ancestry be the focus to illustrate the topic covered in class
